Tradelossa has successfully completed the movement and installation of Mexico’s largest transformer!
This impressive transformer, designed to boost renewable energy generation in Mexico, arrived at the port of Guaymas from China in early April. Thanks to Tradelossa’s experience, equipment, and highly trained personnel, it was successfully transported to the Rafael Galván Maldonado Photovoltaic Plant in Puerto Peñasco, Sonora, where it was delivered, exceeding our clients’ expectations, and strictly adhering to the challenging deadlines set.
With a journey of over 680 km on land, this giant of nearly 300 tons and over 11 meters in length represented an extraordinary logistical achievement. Equipped to generate 375 MVA, it was mobilized using our advanced fleet of high-end Bridge Beams and modular equipment.
Given the limitations of the ports of Guaymas and Puerto Peñasco, our team offered an innovative solution. The transformer was received in Guaymas in a short modular configuration and then transferred to our main fleet for the journey to Puerto Peñasco.
The main configuration, consisting of 28 axles and Bridge Beam equipment, ensured optimal weight distribution during transportation. Upon arrival at its destination, the transformer was unloaded and maneuvered within the plant’s facilities.
Our team provided support at every stage of the process, using specialized equipment such as Jack & Skid for the assembly and handling of the transformer.
This colossal project, which highlights the experience, talent, and equipment of our personnel, marks a crucial milestone in strengthening and expanding the energy infrastructure of the region and the country.
